Running in the
famed Millrose Games meet at Madison Square Garden in New York, the Athena
team of Jane Brooker, Maryline Roux, Julie Hayden and Joan Hunter won the
4x400m Masters Women relay in a new record time of 4:23.73.

USA Masters 10k Championship, Boston, MA
A
week after winning the Masters 5k Championship, Patty Murray won the masters
division of the Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women, which was also the USA
Women's 10K Championship, on October 13 in Boston, MA. Patty ran an
amazing 35:46 ahead of Joan Benoit-Samuelson.

USA Masters 5k Championship, Syracuse NY
Patty
Murray
was the overall winner of the USA Masters 5K Championships in Syracuse NY
on Sunday, October 5 in 17:20. Marisa Hanson was second overall
and first (45-49) in 17.41. Lorraine Jasper was suffering from the
flu, but finished 5th in the 45-49 division in 19.35.
Athena
Track Club won the team award in the 40+ age division.

Athena won its second consecutive Millrose Games
4x400 W40-49 relay title at Madison Square Gardens on Friday February 1,
2008. The team of Julie Hayden, Marissa Hanson, Terri Rath and Lorraine

2 - 5, '07 USA Masters Outdoor Championships, Orono, ME
Athena set a pending World Record in the
W40-49
4x800m relay
at the USA National Masters Outdoor Championships held at the
University of Maine, Orono, ME from August 2 - 5, 2007. The 4x400m W40-49
team also won gold. Athena athletes won a total of eighteen gold, silver
or bronze medals in individual events. Pictures are

Penn Relays, Philadelphia, PA
Athena's 4x400m team of
Joan Hunter, Terri Rath, Lorraine Jasper and Charmaine Roberts broke
Athena's own USA 40-49 Outdoor 4x400m record at the Penn Relays in a new
time of 4:12.64. Athena also won the 40-49 4x100m with a team of Julie
Hayden, Terri Rath, Lorraine Jasper and Charmaine Roberts.

23-25, '07 USA Masters Indoor Championships Boston, MA
At the Reggie Lewis
Center in Boston, Athena set a pending world record in the 4x400 W40-49
relay, lowering their own time from last year's championships. Athena also
set a pending American record in the W30-39 4x800 relay and a pending
American Club record in the 30-39 4x400m relay.
Other highlights were Joan Hunter's
two gold medals in the W40-44 400m and 800m, narrowly beating teammate
Carrie Sherburne in both events. In the W45-49 800m Athena took the first
three places with Terri Cassel first, Lorraine Jasper second and Julie Hayden
third. In the W45-49 mile Lorraine took gold with Julie Hayden coming in
third for the bronze medal.
Team
newcomer Charmaine Roberts placed second in the W35-39 800m and third in
the 400m. Rounding out the medal haul were Terri Rath's bronze in the
W40-44 200m and Caren Ware's silver medals in the W40-44 Pentathlon, 60m
Hurdles and Long Jump. Results of all performances by Athena

US Indoor Championships Boston, MA
Lorraine Jasper and Julie Hayden again represented Athena in a
Masters Invitational race held during the USATF National Indoor
Championships held at Reggie Lewis Arena in Boston MA. Pictures are

Running in the 100th Millrose Games at Madison Square Gardens,
New York, the team of Caren Ware, Lorraine Jasper, Terri Rath and Joan
Hunter comfortably won the Masters Women 40 - 49 4x400 Relay in a meet
record of 4:27.28. The race was part of the USATF Masters Invitational

The March 2007 issue of National Masters News reported on the event "In
the masters' 4x400 relay the Athena Track Club came through on its
vow to take down the meet record. The team of multi-event athlete Caren
Ware and runners Lorraine Jasper, Terri Rath and Joan Hunter broke the old
mark of 4:38.59 by running 4:27.28."

Lorraine Jasper and Julie Hayden represented Athena in the
Masters Invitational Elite Mile at the running of the Hartsthorne Mile at
Cornell University indoor track on January 21, 2007. Pictures are

MD.
Running at the PGC Sports Complex Indoor meet, Athena's team of
Julie Hayden, Joan Hunter, Charmaine Roberts, and Terri Rath ran 4:26.9
for the 4x400m , faster than the existing American F35-39 record.

Armory, January 11, '07.
As reported in the march issue of National Masters News "
Lorraine Jasper, 45, of the Athena track Club ran a fine triple with a
5:26.7 for the mile, 2:27.1 for the 800 and 12:17.1 for the two
miles."

3-6, '06 USA Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships
At the USA Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships held in
Charlotte, NC from August 3-6, 2006, Athena cemented their reputation as
the best female masters relay team in the nation with comfortable wins in
the 4x800m, and the 4x400m where they set a new W40-49 Masters record.
In the individual events Julie Hayden won the W45 1500M gold in a time of
5:06.64, a Master's PR. Teammate Stephanie Tubbs placed second in 5:11.68.
In the W40 1500M Mary Grene took bronze with Lorraine Jasper finishing
fifth.
Three athletes, Joan Hunter, Lorraine Jasper and Teri Rath qualified for a
very competitive W40 400m Final finishing 5th, 7th and 8th respectively.
Joan Hunter and Terri Rath both set PRs in the meet. In the W40 800m
Athena again had three finalists with Lorriane Jasper placing second,
Terri Rath fifth and Joan Hunter sixth. Julie Hayden took silver in the
W45 800m.

24, '06 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Lorraine Jasper represented Athena Track Club at the USA National
Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis, IN competing in the
Women 400 Meter Dash Masters. Lorraine placed third in a time of 1:03.51.

28, '06 - Athena at Penn Relays
Running in front of tens of thousands of spectators at Penn Relays
in Philadelphia, PA, Athena Track Club setting a pending American Club
Record in the Outdoor 4x400m for Women 40-49. The team of Miki Smith,
Terri Rath, Julie Hayden and Lorraine Jasper won their event in a time of
4:23.48.

26, '06 - Highlights from USA Indoor Masters Championships, Boston MA
Running in their first meet as a team at the 2006 USA Masters Indoor Track
& Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston MA, Athena
Track Club made a big impression. Athena won the 4x400m Women's 40-49
relay setting a new world record of 4:20.88. In the 4x800m relay for Women
40-49 Athena set a new American record of 9:55.86. The team members
for both relays were Miki Smith, Mary Grene, Terri Cassel and Lorraine
Jasper. These records are pending ratification.
In individual events Athena also shone, with Mary Grene winning the W40-44
mile, Terri Cassell placing second in the W40-44 3000m, and Julie Hayden
placing second in the W45-49 800m. Results of all performances by Athena
